About Our Practice and Team in NE & NW Calgary

I am a native of Alberta and grew up in the small agricultural town of Milk River. After attending the University of Calgary, where I majored in Chemistry, I graduated from Case School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where I met my wife, Dr. Rachel Bogle. My endodontic training was completed at the University of Minnesota, with research focused on treatment outcomes using a chlorhexidine-based medicament.

I am a Registered Specialist in Endodontics. My family and I love the outdoors, including camping, hiking, and cross-country and downhill skiing.

I attended Central Memorial High School in Calgary as a member of the National Sport Academy hockey program. After high school, I spent 2 years at the University of Calgary and 2 years at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honours. I attended dental school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, receiving my DMD in 2013. After dental school, I completed a 2-year Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in endodontics at Boston University. I am a Registered Specialist in Endodontics practicing in Calgary since 2015.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling with my beautiful wife and spending time with my two kids. I also enjoy golf, hockey, and exercising. Over the past years, I have developed a keen interest in cooking and wine.

Dr. Ben Thomas was born in Calgary and raised in Crossfield, Alberta. After high school, he spent two years in Europe before pursuing higher education in the United States. He completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University, where he majored in Neuroscience and minored in French. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Master of Public Health degree, and Specialty Certificate in Periodontics from the University of North Carolina. His training also included certification in Intravenous Sedation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Thomas is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of numerous dental organizations and societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology and the Canadian Association of Periodontology. As a trained periodontist, he specializes in placing dental implants and managing periodontal disease. This includes:

• Limited or complete periodontal evaluation
• Surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy
• Periodontal regeneration
• Surgical implant placement
• Ridge and sinus augmentation
• Extractions and ridge preservations
• Gingival grafting
• Functional & Esthetic crown lengthening
• Oral Pathology

Dr. Thomas is passionate about dental surgery and loves what he does. He is fluent in French and has provided dental services to underprivileged populations in Haiti, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, and Senegal. Despite his commitment to international humanitarian service, Dr. Thomas is happy to be home in Calgary and takes pride in providing honest, high-quality treatment for his patients. He has also volunteered with local service organizations. 

When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and animals, spending time in the mountains, and playing sports.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. I attended the University of British Columbia and majored in Animal Biology in 2011. I obtained my DMD degree from the University of Manitoba in 2016. After working in private practice in Calgary for 2 years, I decided to further my studies and completed my graduate training in Endodontics at the University of Minnesota in 2020. I am a registered specialist in Endodontics.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my wife and 2 kiddos, scuba diving, and music. I currently serve as the Treasurer for the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists. I am fluent in both English and Cantonese.

I was born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, where I also earned my DMD degree in 2014. After practicing general dentistry for 4 years, I returned to UBC to complete my specialty training in Endodontics. My research focused on comparing the efficacy of different irrigation methods in removing materials from the root canal. I received a Diploma in Endodontics, an MSc in Craniofacial Science, and a Fellowship in Endodontics (Royal College of Dentists of Canada) in 2021. I am a registered specialist in Endodontics.

In my free time, I enjoy playing squash, long-distance running, and spending quality time with my wife and young son.

Dr. Sameer Bajaj is a dual board-certified periodontist (Canadian and American) specializing in gum disease, dental implants, microsurgery, and advanced periodontal procedures. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he received multiple awards for academic and clinical excellence and was inducted into the OKU National Dental Honour Society. He completed a Master of Medical Science in Periodontology and a three-year surgical residency at the University of Alberta.

Before attending UCSF, Dr. Bajaj completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Saskatchewan and served as a research associate at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.

Dr. Bajaj’s practice philosophy is rooted in the belief that every patient deserves customized, evidence-based periodontal care tailored to their unique oral health needs. He believes a “one-size-fits-all” or cookie-cutter approach has no place in modern dentistry.

He is passionate about combining clinical excellence with education. Through detailed dental photography, Dr. Bajaj documents and shares his cases to educate patients, referring dentists, and dental students. He also serves as a part-time instructor at the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Bajaj is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (Dipl. ABP).

My name is Stacey. I have been an RDA since 2016, and I love working in Periodontics. It is super rewarding to me to educate patients and make them feel at ease and comfortable before and/or during surgery!

In my spare time, you can find me at the gym and in the mountains hiking, snowboarding, camping, or paddleboarding!

Hi – I’m Lorrie. I’m originally from Winnipeg, MB. I have been an RDA since 1991, and still love it! Over the years, I have assisted in many fields of dentistry, and I find the most enjoyment in the Endodontic specialty.

In my spare time, you can find me enjoying my other passions, such as gardening, horseback riding, training, and walking my dog, Piper.

My name is Suneyvy. I started assisting in 2011. I really enjoy assisting and helping people feel comfortable during their dental visits. I’m a mom of 3 boys, and I love to spend family time doing things like hiking and watching movies.

My name is Melissa, and I’ve been an RDA since 2017. I previously worked in pediatrics and now am getting the opportunity to work in both endodontics and periodontics. I was raised in Calgary but spent 2 years living in Banff and Canmore, where I was able to work and ski! In my spare time, I enjoy horseback riding, skiing, and running

Hello, I’m Barb. I’ve been an RDA since 2017, and I really enjoy working in Periodontics with this amazing team! When I’m not here, I’m most likely spending time with my fabulous husband, Tyler, and my 6 kids. I love doing all kinds of activities, but I really enjoy playing the piano, singing, and getting together with my band.

Hello, my name is Chris. I changed career paths into dentistry in 2021; however, I have always been in the healthcare field. I chose periodontics because I love people, and assisting during surgeries is always fascinating. I strive to make patients feel comfortable during surgical procedures, especially during lengthy ones. It is rewarding and gives me a sense of fulfillment in my job. At NCDS, we are like one big family, and I’m grateful to be a part of such an amazing dental team.

In my spare time, you will find me on the field playing soccer, hanging with my son, and cheering him on as he plays basketball, or hanging out with my dog Rosie and my cat Cinnamon. I love the hot weather, and you won’t catch me inside unless it’s cold out. In the winter, I love to snuggle up and watch a good movie or read. I was born in Calgary and grew up in several other provinces. Ultimately, I returned because in my heart, Calgary has always been home.

Hello! I’m Simran, and I’ve proudly called Canada home since 2016. I graduated from CNC in 2023 as a Registered Dental Assistant, and I’m grateful to be part of such an amazing team. Outside of work, I love exploring nature, going on long drives, and spending time with friends, who I consider my family here.

Hi, I’m Laurelyn. I was born and raised in Calgary, but attended the University of Manitoba for my dental hygiene education. I have 25 years of dental hygiene experience, and almost a decade of experience with the specialty of periodontics. I was happy to join NCDS in February of 2023 and look forward to the opportunity to meet you and take care of your dental needs.

Hi! I’m Hanna, a Dental Hygienist originally from Poland, with qualifications from King’s College in England. I bring over 25 years of experience in the dental field and have been practicing as a Dental Hygienist since 2012. I take pride in providing thorough and patient-centered dental care. I’m committed to staying up to date with the latest techniques and technology in the field.

When I’m not working, I enjoy quality time with my husband and our two young kids, staying active at the gym, and exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping. I’m proud to work alongside a skilled team at NCDS, where we strive to provide exceptional care and create a welcoming environment for every patient.

Hi! I’m Colby. I am a born-and-raised Calgarian, and I’ve been with Springborough Endodontics and North Calgary Dental Specialists for 5 years.

In my spare time, you will find me on the court playing or coaching volleyball, hanging with my dog Wookie, or out dancing with my friends. You can always find me watching sports or true crime. I love the outdoors, especially when it involves sitting around a campfire with the ones I love, a good song playing in the background.

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m here to make your check-in and out as smooth as possible and help assist you with any questions. I started my dental career in 2017, and I enjoy it very much. I am originally from England and moved to Canada with my boyfriend in 2016. After living in Toronto for 2 years, we made the decision to move to Calgary, which we love! In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, being outside, and exploring new places.

At NCDS, my goal is to make sure our patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well-informed during every visit to our clinic. Outside the office, you can find me painting, camping with my family, or having deep philosophical discussions with my cats.

Hi, my name is Charlene, or Cha in short. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Canada 11 years ago to have a better life. I just started my dental career in 2025, and while I’m still learning, I promise to help patients with as much knowledge and ensure the quality of care.

Outside work, I love shopping and spending time with family, especially with my daughter MJ and partner.

Hi! My name is Courtney, and I started my career in the dental field in 2011. I have completed the dental administration program and am a licensed RDA II. I joined the team in 2017, and it has been an amazing experience being able to grow with such a supportive, patient-focused team.

My husband and I moved to Calgary in 2012 and have been in love with the city ever since. I enjoy getting out to Fish Creek Park with our husky, Miikka, kayaking on the reservoir, and biking

My name is Kristen. I changed career paths to dentistry in 2021, joining most of my family, who also work in the field, spanning from Cochrane all the way to Ontario. I am passionate about working with people and enjoy the work that I do. I’m originally from Ontario, but moved to Alberta in 2007 with my husband and first son.

My name is Larysa. I moved to Canada from Ukraine in 2022 and began my career as a sterilization assistant in British Columbia, where I worked for one year. After relocating to Calgary, I joined North Calgary Dental Specialists and am grateful to be part of this wonderful team. I have always enjoyed helping people, and working in healthcare feels like the perfect path for me. I really enjoy keeping things clean, organized, and safe so that our patients can feel comfortable and cared for.

In my free time, I love being with my family and friends. We enjoy hiking, biking, cooking together, and playing board games, which helps us stay active, connected, and balanced.
